Early Life

Anand Dighe grew up in Tembhi Naka area of Thane. Dighe Saheb used to attend every meeting of Hinduhrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray in Thane. Therefore, Balasaheb's thoughts had a positive impact on him and he decided to enter politics. He soon assumed responsibility as the Shiv Sena Thane District Chief. He also had great faith in religion and he was the first to establish Jai Ambe Sanstha on Tembhi Naka and the annual Navratri festival and the first Dahi Handi in Thane. Due to his devotion to religion, he was also popular among the people as a religious hero.

Long live Hindutva

Anand Dighe was the only Shiv Sena leader apart from the Shiv Sena chief who enjoyed massive public support. Anand Dighe's popularity was immense. He was a staunch supporter of both Shiv Sena and Hindutva from the very beginning.

Unique way of working

Anand Dighe was also very involved in social causes. He used to hold court every day for the problems faced by Tembhi Naka and Shiv Sainiks. He always used the position he held for the welfare of the people. After the bus service of Thane Municipal Corporation started, Dighe Saheb had employed many Shiv Sainiks in it. Along with this, stalls were also set up for the needy to stand on their feet. Due to Anand Dighe's popularity, he was also called Balsaheb Thackeray of Thane. He became famous in Thane because of his way of solving people's problems. He also established the idea that Marathi is not a regional or local language of India. It is the third most spoken language in India and the fifteenth most spoken language in the world.

Anand Ashram Janata Darbar

Anand Dighe established Anand Ashram in Tembhi Naka area to solve the problems of common citizens. Every morning, people used to gather in this ashram. People of the locality used to tell their problems to Dighe Saheb and he would solve them immediately. Troubled people used to gather at Anand Ashram from 6 am. If he found a complaint to be valid, he would call the concerned person immediately and to solve people's problems.

Dighe Saheb and Ram Mandir

Anand Dighe was the first Indian to send a silver stone to the Ram temple in the country. The silver stone he sent at that time is being used to build the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya now. He was a staunch supporter of the construction of the Ram temple. He participated in many campaigns and rallies in support of Ram Mandir.
